Dr. Michele Reynolds is appointed by Governor Mike DeWine as the Director of the Governor’s Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives. Dr. Reynolds is a social entrepreneur and successful business owner with over 20 years of professional experience in business and non-profit management. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NISRE Inc.—a faith based nonprofit community development organization that provides affordable housing solutions and a range of economic empowerment initiatives designed to alleviate poverty and revitalize neighborhoods in low and moderate income communities. Under her leadership NISRE, Inc. has housed over 1000 restored citizens through its restorative housing programs and created workforce opportunities for marginalized citizens. NISRE Inc. is the parent company of 8 businesses, which includes The EXIT (Ex-offenders In Transition) Program, Jessie’s World, Rahab’s Hideaway, Coffee Crafters, Sawyer’s Place, The Destiny Center, Seniors Helping Seniors and Cargominiums® for which Michele Reynolds oversees as Chief Executive Officer.
Her education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, Master of Arts in Public Administration and Urban Studies from the University of Akron, Master of Law from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy from CICA International University and Seminary, and “All but dissertation” for her earned doctorate degree in Business Administration from Northcentral University. Michele attended Hondros College and is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with in the State of Ohio, specializing in Commercial Real Estate at Treasure & Associates.
Dr. Reynolds is a member of the Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute, Columbus Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, and Columbus Chapter of the NAACP. She serves as a Commissioner on both the ServeOhio Commission on Service and Volunteerism, and the Ohio Fatherhood Commission. Michele Reynolds is a mother and wife of Pastor Uhleric (Rick) Reynolds and the First Lady and Executive Pastor of Common Ground Destiny Center Church. Mrs. Reynolds and her husband reside with their family in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
