Wanda J. Ellis current position is Deputy Director over the Office of Family Assistance (OFA). This office is responsible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Ohio Works First (OWF), Child Care and Licensing, Refugee Services and the Commission on Fatherhood (COF). This Office works to provide policy, training, system user support with multiple help desks, technical assistance, a client help desk, operational bureaus who assist with requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation of system changes and licensing and inspections of Publicly Funded Child Care programs. The COF is also building and improving on the Fatherhood programs and services. This group has expanded programs cross the state of Ohio. The Refugee Services team works with community resettlement agencies to provide programs and services to our refugee population.
Prior to her current position, Wanda held several management positions in the office for which she serves today. She started at the state in 1996 in the Office of Information Services. She started her public service journey and career at the Hamilton County Job and Family Services. She has certainly come to love serving the State of Ohio and our citizens.
Wanda has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Business Administration. She started her education at Xavier University in Cincinnati and finished up at Franklin University.
